Run the Race
Run the Race
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Heb 12:1).
The race of faith is likened to whatever you are running towards. Keep your eyes and head up high at all-times seeing your destine goal. There are qualities when entering this race.
There are impediments and obstructions that will show up in your race. Therefore, “lay aside every weight”, Every competition, every wrong word spoken, every jealous spirit, every accusation, every ill word, every word of judgment. Everything about you that does not align with the will of God, lay it down. For the faithful Christian, these hindrances, are a dead weight upon the soul, making your race much more difficult to run. These disablements pull you down when you should be ascending; they must be eradicated from your life in order run the race of faith.
Run by pulling off the entangling sin. There is that one sin above all others that defeats your Christian walk and only you know which one it is in your life. Above all others there is that “one” sin that has imprisoned you. You know your secret closet and what you open the door to every time…Is time to lay it down, you’ve been too long in that! Put it off or you will be tracking in the race and not running towards your goal. Run your race with patience, with endurance and you will gain persistence. Let your faith be the conquering grace.
Focus on the finish line that Jesus has already blazed the trail and finished the course. He is the author and the finisher of your faith.
